CONTACT LENS ORDERS


The contact lenses you are ordering are for your own personal use.

Your order must be for the same contact lenses that have been prescribed and fitted by your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.

LARGE ITEMS

We are based in Wellington and keep our costs as low as we can. Unfortunately, courier charges keep increasing.

If your delivery is to the South Island, or further north than Wanganui or Woodville in the North Island, a few bulky products attract a “large item” cost when the quantity means they won’t fit in an A4 courier bag.

These products have an additional question on their product page about your location. If you are outside the Wellington Region, you will see any extra “large item” cost as you increase and decrease the product quantity. (This cost does also apply to orders over $200.)

In the unlikely event that the calculation isn’t sufficient to cover the costs, we’ll contact you to see if you want to reduce the order size or purchase a larger courier bag or box.

There is no “large item” cost for deliveries to the Wellington Region (no further north than Wanganui or Woodville) OR for orders that are only Contact Lenses.

If your contact lens solutions / eye drops delivery is to the South Island, or further north than Wanganui or Woodville in the North Island and your contact lens solutions / eye drops (not including any Contact Lenses) does not fit into an A4 courier bag or smaller, you can add this Solutions Excess Courier Cost of $6.95 for a larger courier bag or box. Depending on the size of the order there may be more than one Solutions Excess Courier Cost and we will contact you if that is the case.

Alternatively you can reduce the size of your contact lens solutions order to fit an A4 courier bag or smaller.

  • If you place a Contact Lens Solutions order and it doesn’t fit an A4 courier bag or smaller (not including any Contact Lenses) then we’ll contact you to see if you want to reduce the size of your contact lens solutions order, or purchase an excess courier cost for a larger courier bag or box.
  • If the solutions order doesn’t fit an A4 courier bag and has qualified for Free Shipping the excess courier cost applies.
  • If the size of your solutions order is reduced to fit an A4 courier bag and the revised order value falls below the Free Shipping cost of $200 then a normal courier cost applies and will be deducted from any refunded amount.

Normal delivery time is 4-6 working days where you have supplied your full, correct prescription and delivery information. Some contact lenses can take longer, in these cases you will be notified with an expected delivery time. Astigmatism / Toric contact lenses frequently take longer and these potential delivery times are noted on each product.

All orders received by 3:00pm on Tuesday 24 December will be processed before we close for the holiday break. Orders placed after that time will be processed when we re-open on Monday 6 January.
While we are closed our email and phones will not be monitored. Courier services are limited and are delivering large volumes of packages, so your delivery may take an additional 2-3 working days over December and January.

Visique Hutt Valley Optometrists endeavours to meet these delivery schedules, but will not be held responsible for any delays due to product shortages, incomplete prescription or delivery information or courier deliveries. If there is a delay on supplying your order we will advise you by email and / or phone as soon as possible. If the products are not received within 7 working days of your order it is your responsibility to contact us so the goods may be traced. If you fail to advise us within the 7 working days of your original order that the products have not arrived, compensation will not be available for lost goods.

All orders are shipped via traceable courier. If your purchase is being couriered please provide us with a physical daytime address where there will be someone present to sign for your purchase. If no one is available to sign for the package, a calling card will be left in your letterbox, or at the address supplied if possible, advising you of alternative delivery options (Please note that delivery to a P.O. Box may cause delays). Deliveries will not be made on weekends or public holidays. Delivery is within New Zealand. We do not provide an overseas delivery service.

If you have selected Urban, rather than Rural, for shipping to a Rural Delivery (RD) address, your order will be placed once the payment has been received for Rural shipping, or you have provided a non-Rural Delivery (RD) address for shipping. CONTACT LENS ORDERS
The contact lenses you are ordering are for your own personal use.

Your order must be for the same contact lenses that have been prescribed and fitted by your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.

Please take care when ordering your contact lenses to ensure you order your prescription correctly, including whether you require “+” plus, or “-” minus powered contact lenses. On your order minus (-) powered contact lenses will have a “-” in front of your power number e.g. -3.00. Plus (+) powered contact lenses on your order have your power number only e.g. 3.00.

We do not take responsibility for supplying the incorrect contact lenses due to you, or your Optometrist, or Ophthalmologist providing us with incorrect details.
When you place an order with Visique Hutt Valley Optometrists you give permission to Visique Hutt Valley Optometrists to contact your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to verify your contact lens details, request a copy of your prescription and if required then you will give an authority to your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to supply this information to Visique Hutt Valley Optometrists.
We reserve the right not to supply contact lenses if we feel the selected contact lenses are not in accordance with the specifications provided by you, your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist, or if the contact lenses are not able to be supplied by Visique Hutt Valley Optometrists.

Visique Hutt Valley Optometrists reserves the right to cancel any orders. Reasons for cancellation may include, but are not limited to, inappropriate use of the shopping site, circumstances where we believe payment details may be fraudulent or insufficient information is provided for us to process the order.
By completing the online order form you agree to accept shipment for the selected product, and agree to pay by the method indicated on your order form.
By completing the online order form you agree and accept that you are the person responsible for the credit card and accept responsibility for all charges made on our site by your card. Your order must be for the same contact lenses that have been prescribed and fitted by your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.
Visique Hutt Valley Optometrists does not accept responsibility for your lack of suitability to wear contact lenses.
You agree to wear and replace the contact lenses according to the schedule recommended by your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.

Optometrists and Ophthalmologists have an ethical duty of care, to ensure that contact lenses are dispensed only to people who have a valid prescription for those contact lenses.
This is to ensure that the eye, and more specifically the cornea on which the contact lens is placed, is regularly examined for any signs of diseases and complications.

If your contact lens prescription is outside its recommended expiry date it is recommended you have an eye examination before proceeding with your contact lens order. If you have not had, or have declined, the recommended eye examination, then by ordering from this website you agree you have read and understand the above statement and accept full responsibility for your ongoing eyecare and for the suitability of your contact lenses purchases.

Prices for our products are subject to change without notice.

Certain products or services may be available exclusively online through the website. These products or services may have limited quantities and are subject to return or exchange only according to our Return Policy.
We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours and images of our products that appear in the website store. We cannot guarantee that your device or computer monitor’s display of any colour will be accurate.
We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to limit the sales of our products or Services to any person, geographic region or jurisdiction. We may exercise this right on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to limit the quantities of any products or services that we offer. All descriptions of products or product pricing are subject to change at any time without notice, at the sole discretion of us. We reserve the right to discontinue any product at any time. Any offer for any product or service made on this site is void where prohibited.
We do not warrant that the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you will meet your expectations, or that any errors in the Service will be corrected.

SECTION 6 – ACCURACY OF BILLING AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION
We reserve the right to refuse any order you place with us. We may, in our sole discretion, limit or cancel quantities purchased per person, per household or per order. These restrictions may include orders placed by or under the same customer account, the same credit card, and/or orders that use the same billing and/or shipping address. In the event that we make a change to or cancel an order, we may attempt to notify you by contacting the e-mail and/or billing address/phone number provided at the time the order was made.
You agree to provide current, complete and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made at our store. You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address and credit card numbers and expiration dates, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.

These Terms of Service are effective unless and until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate these Terms of Service at any time by notifying us that you no longer wish to use our Services, or when you cease using our site.
If in our sole judgment you fail, or we suspect that you have failed, to comply with any term or provision of these Terms of Service, we also may terminate this agreement at any time without notice and you will remain liable for all amounts due up to and including the date of termination; and/or accordingly may deny you access to our Services (or any part thereof).

SECTION 17 – ENTIRE AGREEMENT
The failure of us to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
These Terms of Service and any policies or operating rules posted by us on this site or in respect to The Service constitutes the entire agreement and understanding between you and us and govern your use of the Service, superseding any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications and proposals, whether oral or written, between you and us (including, but not limited to, any prior versions of the Terms of Service).
Any ambiguities in the interpretation of these Terms of Service shall not be construed against the drafting party.

These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and inclusive of GST.

SECTION 20 – CUSTOMS DUTIES
Any customs duties are the responsibility of the customer.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and changes to our website. SECTION 22 – PINS/ USERNAME AND PASSWORDS
You may be issued PINs or have a username and password for using specific services within this website such as when you register as a customer.
You agree to take all reasonable precautions to protect the security and integrity of your PIN or username and password and to prevent its unauthorised use. You agree to be responsible for all actions taken using your PIN or username and password. If you suspect or become aware of any unauthorised use of your PIN or username and password, you will immediately notify Visique Hutt Valley Optometrists.

All copyright and other intellectual property rights in the contents of this website (including text, images, trademarks, graphics, layout, moving pictures, look and feel, the design and any other information of this website) is owned or otherwise provided by Visique Hutt Valley Optometrists.
